ABOUT THE CONTEST
The Korean Education Centre in Sydney is hosting the 19th Korean Performance Contest (2025), inviting students interested in the Korean language and culture to participate in the event. The details of the contest are as follows:
Eligibility
The contest is open to all students, both background and non-background learners, from Kindergarten to Year 12, who are participating in Korean language learning at the primary or high school level.

※ Participants are required to submit an application form along with either a recorded performance (via USB or YouTube link), or a piece of artwork for review. The judging panel will then select the top performers and artists, who will be invited to perform or show their work live at the final contest.

Time and Date 13:00 ~ 16:30, Friday, 19 September 2025
Venue Latvian Hall, Strathfield (32 Parnell St, Strathfield NSW 2135)
※ Finalists must obtain permission from their schools to participate in the contest.
Contest Format
ARTWORK
Participants can present their work in any format that utilizes written Korean language, such as reciting poetry, creating illustrated booklets, drawing, or crafting.

  • You may choose one of the following topics: ‘Korea’, ‘Korean Culture’, ‘Korean Food’, ‘Korean Tour’.
  • In the Artworks, rankings of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be determined during the preliminary judging. All participants selected for these rankings must compete in the final contest to explain their works in Korean for 2-3 minutes upon receiving their award.
  • Artwork size : no larger than A3.
  • Please print and submit this application form together with your artwork.
  • Selected artworks may be used for exhibition or promotional purposes.
  • The Korean Education Centre is not responsible for any damage or loss of submitted works.
  • If you wish to retrieve your submitted artwork, please visit the Korean Education Centre in Sydney by 31 December 2025. Unclaimed works will be disposed of after this date.
PERFORMANCE
The subject, content and form of the performances must be related to Korean culture. (e.g., Korean traditional dance, musical performance, dramatic performance, Taekwondo, K-pop dance, K-pop song, Korean poetry recitation or performing a skit etc.)

  • The finalists should explain their works in Korean for 2-3 minutes prior to the performance.
  • Participants may perform individually or as part of a group.
  • Performance duration : 5-6 minutes.
  • If you include a YouTube link on your application, you do not need to submit a USB.
  • If you are submitting a USB, please print and submit the application form together with the USB.
  • Selected performance videos may be used for exhibition or promotional purposes.
Prizes
- All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
- Prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding performances.
